We are just £500 shy of our £2,000 goal for the Other Brother Studios Film Fund.

Seeking new partners for additional sponsorship: are you interested?

Set up in 2017 the fund aims to support emerging filmmakers in the early stages of their careers. We have supported 4x talented emerging filmmakers since 2017 and as we head into the 5th year of the fund we want to make even more of a difference and raise the support given.

Winning shorts have been shown at 54 film festivals internationally, including ‘7 Planets’ by Milda Baginskaite, the 2017 film fund winner.

From Milda:

“Being a young filmmaker, let alone being young, is not easy. There are lots of us out there, trying to get our films made and a lot of us have good ideas too, I believe. Film being a collaborative affair, we need more people than just ourselves believing in our stories to get them off the ground. Other Brother Studios, first of all, has given me so much confidence in the project, supporting and understanding the story I wanted to tell. From early preproduction until the late distribution stages of 7 Planets, Matthew has given us great advice and provided us with technical support whenever needed. At the same time, our team was given lots of freedom to make our own decisions and creative choices. The challenging budget limitations and a set timescale to produce the film have worked out for the better for us, as any kind of limitations make one think creatively and improvise. With a budget of £500 we managed to have over 20 schoolchildren and a rocket launch in our short. There should exist more creative schemes like Other Brother Studios Film Fund to help and support young creatives make their first steps into the wide, scary and unknown film industry world.”

'Escort' hits No.1 spot on the iTunes charts!

Other Brother Studios funded short film ‘Escort’ has hit the No.1 spot for Best Thriller on the iTunes charts!

Directed by Gyulyara Meliki, Escort is a psychological thriller short film about a 1st time escort who encounters a psychopath obsessed with cleansing the world of call girls.

Escort has shown at 7x film festivals internationally and gained actor Actor Arkie Recce a nomination for ‘Best Actor’ at the 2020 Annual Movie Awards.

Filming at the top of The Shard!

Other Brother Studios filming at the top of the tallest building in the UK. Tick.

We had an incredible time filming the Tom Donald Trio at the top of The Shard, the weather behaved and gave us, what Matt from The Shard described as, the ‘best sunset in 3 years’. Now that’s lucky!

Georgia Clarke-Day - not only the co-writer and co-producer, but also co-star! Georgia has appeared in the national tour of #gaslight in 2019 and #DinnerIsComing @thevaultslondon

Ruby Bentall - co-writer, co-producer, co-star! Ruby has appeared in Armando Iannucci’s ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ and as a series regular in #Poldark

Jason Forbes - Playing the lynchpin in Slice Right, Jason is known for his amazing sketch work on shows like The Mash Report on @bbcone

Shazia Nicholls - of @nationaltheatre #AnthonyAndCleopatra fame. Shazia is also known for her role in Doctor Foster with @bbcone and soon she will be known for her show-stealing cameo in #SliceRight

Ridgeview videos - 1.8m impressions, 800k people reached!

Fab News has published an article outlining the results of our latest campaign with YesMore Wine Marketing Agency for Ridgeview and it looks very good!

• Overall, 1.8m impressions of the ad were served, with 800k people reached in the South East and across the UK.

• Sales directly from the ads alone drove a 323% increase in online sales – and that’s just those we could directly track. We also know that during the period of our campaign, sales in Waitrose were up 42% on the same promotional period in the prior year.

• The ads and competition also grew Ridgeview’s email list by 37%. 

• A new campaign in February involved re-running the ‘engagement’ video creative around Valentine’s day – this grew the overall database by another 35%.

• Overall YesMore Agency’s campaign with new content and a smart paid social approach grew the email database by an impressive 85% from both campaigns.

Shooting in Australia!

It has been a year of remote working…but out latest music video for Rich Webb was the furthest distance by far. Last week we shot in Melbourne, Australia with Rich and the talented cinematographer Louis C Brandt.

Louis followed Rich around his hometown and in a local studio where Rich has been recording some new music.

We can’t wait to get editing!

Yes, that is ANOTHER film festival selection for 7 Planets! What a ride this short film has had.

7 Planets, directed by Milda Baginskaite, will screen at Inheritance Film Festival, Northern Island’s first festival of arts and entertainment, which is supported by Arts Council Northern Ireland and The National Lottery UK
