We are delighted to announce that the two winners for the 2024 Emerging Voices Film Foundation film fund are Brandon Pantry-Melsom and Kirsty Hines-Mackay.
Brandons short film is ‘The Human Chair’, a Horror inspired by a short story by Edogawa Ranpo about a book publisher who receives a letter leading her to second guess if she lives alone. Brandon won over the trustees and execs with a tremendously well written and terrifying script, with brilliant cast and crew attached. Keep an eye out for Brandon, he’s one to watch!
Kirsty’s short film is ‘Last Call’, a Comedy Drama about two very different women who get locked in the toilets in a ferry terminal overnight. They share their stories about their relationships and discover they have more in common than they first thought. ’Last Call’ is a story about friendship and the connections women can make with one another in a short time. It’s about love and dating, and how we can lose our sense of self in relationships.
Kirsty’s script was powerful and unique, packing a punch with an incredible twist. Kirsty is a writer / director with a unique voice and very bright future ahead!
