Other Brother Studios is 6 years old!
6 years of creating, producing, directing, filming, animating and carving our own path into the film industry.
We wanted to celebrate this by showcasing 6 shorts / commercials / music videos which we think best represent Other Brother Studios and what we have been proudest to help produce since 2016.

1. Rich Webb - Let It Rain
The first is a music video for Rich Webb we made in 2018. The song, ‘Let It Rain’ is about wanting to wash the weight of the world away, and when it happens to run into the middle of a field somewhere and shout hallelujah! So a dramatic water fight at a children’s party seemed fitting!
We cast young people from the local area via a youth community centre called The Link in Thamesmead (special thanks to @nadiaa111). It was a very fun shoot with a great crew, cast and the band, who all worked to make a simple idea into a brilliant video.

2. Cooper King Distillery
The second is a commercial we made for Cooper King Distillery way back in 2018. Working with start-ups is fascinating, because you learn so much about a subject from being immersed in their business and building a distillery from the ground up is no small feat. Once a Scientist and Architect, Abbie and Chris are now the founders of England's most exciting new Distillery, carving a path for hand-crafted premium whisky. It’s been amazing to watch Cooper King Distillery grow from strength to strength, especially with the perspective of running my own company for a similar amount of time, and as a founding member it’s also been lovely to receive the first bottles of maturing malt and new-make malt.
This film was also back in the day when it was just me (@matthewlaweswickwar), and whilst filming with larger crews is excellent and where I am most comfortable, I have fond memories of doing it all myself.

3. 7 Planets
The third is a short film that was the first recipient of the Other Brother Studios Film Fund in 2017. Directed by Milda Baginskaite, 7 Planets is a tale of one girl’s dream to escape Planet Earth. 7 Planets went on to screen at 47 film festivals internationally.
This short film was such a brilliant start to the film fund which is now entering its 6th year. An excellent story, well executed by a brilliant filmmaker who has gone from strength to strength in her career.

4. Reuben Hollebon, ‘On & On’
The fourth is a music video from 2016 for Reuben Hollebon, right at the beginning of Other Brother Studios. We were very fortunate to work with Director James Slater and Creative Designer Natasha Lawes on this one. Shot in Dungeness with robot faces and a bit of ol’ fashioned oil drinking! This was a great example of a bunch of friends making something fun and creative together, which ultimately is the beauty of filmmaking.

5. Ridgeview Wine
The fifth is a commercial we made for Ridgeview Wine in 2021. The campaign focussed on four different bottle openers; The Perfectionist, The Magician, The Squealy Popper, The First-Timer. We brought in an excellent crew for this including Director Guy Larsen, Producer Cambria Bailey-Jones, DOP Ciaran O’Brien. The whole process was amazing, helped by a great agency YesMore and client Ridgeview Wine who were willing to push the creative to make something really fun and shareable.

6. The Song of Wandering Aengus
The sixth is an animated short film that started Other Brother Studios. It took 6 months to make, screened at 45 film festivals and won 8 awards en route. It’s the film we are proudest of, not least because of the commitment from all the crew. It was incredible to work with Liam Cunningham who brought so much life to the narration and David Holmes and Keefus Ciancia who created such a beautiful score.
