We are delighted to announce that the winners for the 2022 Other Brother Studios film fund are Jen Lim & Lily Howkins.
Jen’s short film ‘Discord’ is about a young’s girls first lesson with her new piano teacher, with tensions rising to an unexpected climax.
In her own words Jen says ‘I started learning music and in particular piano at an early age of three and went on to study a multitude of instruments. This meant that up until a certain age my life revolved heavily around music. Very soon these lessons became a weekly battle of wills between my teachers and myself. This film is a snapshot of the emotions and tensions of a music lesson through a surrealist lens.'
Jen’s pitch packed a punch and was brimming with creativity. We are excited to see what Jen creates with her ideas.

Lily Howkins short film ’The Eyes of Marge’ is a 10 minute social horror inspired by the conversation currently taking place around male violence towards women. Flipping the gender stereotypes of a typical slasher/stalker film on their head, it uses horror to interrogate this deep-rooted aspect of our culture.
Lily’s pitch was fully formed with an incredible script and bolstered by excellent supporting material. We are thrilled to support Lily’s film and look forward to seeing what Lily creates.
