We were asked by Stingray Music to film a TV promo for soprano Seljan Nasibli in a St Paul’s Church in Chiswick, London. It was such a delight filming live music again, especially after lockdown. Seljan was accompanied by pianist Nico De Villiers.
Strictly following APA guidelines for COVID shooting, we kept the crew to a minimum. Thankfully we had plenty of time to setup for the session and interview as we brought a lot of equipment! Matthew was on DOP duties - camera wise we brought 2x C300mkii’s with a set of C-NE primes. Louis was gaffer - lighting wise we had an ARRI M18 1.8k HMI pointed through a silk with negative fill to shape the shadows, a junior boom for a Dedo hair light and 4 or 5 other Dedo’s placed as backlights for Seljan and Nico or as backdrop lighting for the church. Additionally we used our Rayzr7 300 bi-colour when we shot the interview part, as we wanted something more intimate with the lighting. Sound wise, Joe brought his incredible new setup, the mix has never sounded so good!
The film is currently in the edit suite with Stingray. Here are a few stills from the shoot.
Thank you Stingray for getting us involved, and Seljan for your incredible performance.
